As there was no wind and it's been freezing cold decided to dust off my ice axes and go for a walk in the snow with a couple of friends round the Idwal skyline, possibly soloing some easy ice steps.....................

Not to be however as the others decided that more excitement was needed so we headed off and climbed South Gully a 3 star grade 4 ice route.

First time I'd buried my axe points in 3 years and must admit to being a little jittery though being on the end of the rope helped !!

A great day with superb conditions.
